the central part of the expansion

American exceptionalism- the belief that America is exceptional and set apart from other nations- and its manifest destiny became the central part of the expansion. This belief led to the removal of the Indians to the west of Mississippi RIver in 1820, and then followed by some other similar removals, also to the Annexation of Texas and the war with Mexico. In the Western history, the bloodshed between Indians and Whites, or Mexian and Whites, marked the expansion.
